According to spokesperson Sílvia Paneque, the design of the Aragonès Day was “sensitive to the current political moment and the circumstances that could accompany this September 11.”
The Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, presided over by Salvador Illa (PSC), has decided to continue the institutional campaign designed by the previous ERC Director on the occasion of the elections National Day of Catalonia before September 11 of this year. The common thread will therefore remain Catalan sentiment, the unity and diversity of Catalonia and the rejection of fascism and the far right.
The spokesperson Silvia Paneque He has stated that the current government is comfortable with the Republican campaign and has therefore held it as intended. The only difference will be the location where the president will deliver his message, this time from the Palau de la Generalitat.
“This is a Diada that was meant to be a Diada for everyone,” stressed Paneque, who appreciated that the Aragonès government “was sensitive to the current political moment and the circumstances that could accompany this September 11.”
Under the motto ‘Many hearts, one heartbeat’, Diada’s institutional campaign aims to celebrate the spirit and pride of the Catalan character ‘based on inclusivity, respect and the celebration of differences’ and to reject hate speech.
“The fundamental values of this National Day of Catalonia are diversity, transversality, unity and the inclusion of everyone. These values are a message against fascism and the far right, which are exclusive projects, and which always highlight diversity as a problem and not as wealth,” Paneque argued.
In the same way, he stressed that the Diada is an important day for all Catalans: “It unites us as citizens and gives meaning to this sense of belonging. We are a country that has shown resistance and is constantly and continuously showing resistance, our spirit of improvement. and this makes us stronger and unites us.”
