The convicts (Oriol Junqueras, Raul Romeva, Jordi Turull and Dolors Bassa) have one more option at the Supreme Court by submitting an incident of annulment before turning to the Constitutional Court for protection.
The Supreme Court has affirmed its decision not to grant amnesty for the crime of embezzlement to those convicted in the case processes —Oriol Junqueras, Raul Romeva, Jordi Turull and Dolors Bassa—.
As the Supreme Court reports in a note, the court in the case of processes rejected the appeals filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the former vice president of the Generalitat Oriol Junqueras, and the former councilors Raul Romeva, Dolors Bassa and Jordi Turull against the order concluding that the crime of embezzlement for which the latter had been convicted was excluded of the amnesty law.
The House repeats that the people mentioned are guilty of embezzlement personal benefit of a patrimonial naturewhich the legislature has expressly excluded from the scope of the amnesty.
However, it has not been a unanimous decision since Judge Ana Ferrer ruled A private vote deviant.
Those convicted have one more option at the Supreme Court through the presentation of an incident of annulment before turning to the Constitutional Court for protection.
