Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the presentation of his “victory plan” on October 12. It includes clear and concrete steps for a just end to the war. However, there are serious doubts about this.
Zelensky wrote on Telegram on Saturday that he wanted to present the plan at the next meeting of the so-called Ramstein contact group. The head of state had previously spoken about such a plan, but did not make any details public.
In a week, a summit on Ukraine will take place at the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany, to which US President Joe Biden is inviting people.
At the meeting of the US-led contact group in support of Ukraine attacked by Russia, Biden wants to coordinate the efforts of the more than 50 countries that supported Kiev in its defensive struggle, the White House said.
Doubts about ‘victory plan’
During a visit to the United States last month, Zelensky presented his plan to President Biden and the two presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. It contains some productive proposals, a US State Department spokesperson said.
However, the Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported that these were simply known Ukrainian demands for more weapons and permission to use longer-range missiles. It does not contain a comprehensive strategy.
