According to US authorities, a video was made by Russia showing the alleged destruction of ballots for Donald Trump. The clip was distributed by, among others, tech billionaire and Trump supporter Elon Musk.
Russia is trying to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the US elections and sow division among Americans, the FBI said.
He reportedly tore up ballots and insulted Trump
The video shows the hands of a person tearing open envelopes and inspecting the ballots inside. The votes cast for Trump are then torn up and the ex-president is insulted.

The video was said to have been shot in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, but the local election authority immediately pointed out that both the envelopes and ballots did not match those actually used.
Russia wants to divide the US
FBI and Secret Service Office Avril Haines believes the video was shot by “Russian actors” and spread online. They referred to the available information and previous activities. Russia is trying to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the American elections and sow division among Americans.
Pennsylvania is one of the US states that could determine the outcome of the election. A total of 270 votes from voters from several states are needed to enter the White House. In Pennsylvania, it’s about 19 voters. Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican Trump are neck and neck in the polls ahead of the November 5 election.
