Head-to-head race – Trump is sure: “Only fraud can stop us”

Date:

In the final phase of the race for the White House, Trump is confident of victory – as long as there is no fraud. That’s how it went before the 2020 election, the outcome of which he still doesn’t recognize to this day.

Just like four years ago, shortly before the presidential elections, Donald Trump is fueling the expectation among his supporters that victory can only be taken away from him through fraud. He claimed during an appearance in Arizona that he was leading in each of the seven battleground states that will decide the election. “The only thing that can stop us is fraud,” the ex-president said. Overall, studies indicate a neck-and-neck race.

“Attempted fraud” discovered
Several attempts at fraud have already come to light, Trump claimed during a conversation with right-wing moderator Tucker Carlson in a room for supporters. He also made similar comments before the 2020 election, which the then-incumbent president lost to Democrat Joe Biden.

Failed with dozens of lawsuits
After Election Day, he claimed victory had been stolen from him by widespread voter fraud by Democrats. However, dozens of lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign have failed in court.

There was never any evidence of irregularities that would have changed the outcome of the vote. But Trump continues to claim this. His comments also led to his supporters storming the Capitol in Washington, the seat of the US Congress, in early 2021.

According to surveys, Republican Trump (78) and his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris (60), are close. On Tuesday, Americans will elect their new president, about a third of U.S. Senators and the House of Representatives.
