The Council of Ministers will approve a second decree-law this Monday with new immediate response measures for the affected by the DANA floods.
In concrete terms, this second package of measures will include a series of measures labor measures for workers affected by DANA, which the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, has dubbed the “labor shield.”
The ‘labor shield’, which will operate retroactively from October 29, will consist of several measures, such as Files Temporary Employment Regulations (ERTE) due to force majeure or due to economic, technical, organizational or production causes (ETOP).
Employees who cannot go to their workplace or telework due to DANA can also request this paid, non-refundable leavewith 100% of the salary.
Likewise, there will be an extraordinary benefit for housekeepers, prohibition on dismissal and the right to shorten the working day by up to 100% concern.
Last week, the Council of Ministers approved a first package of measures worth 10.6 billion euros to help individuals, self-employed people and companies affected by DANA, with urgent assistance for those affected in 78 municipalities, mainly in the Valencian Autonomous Communities.
