Juan Lobato has announced that he is resigning after the hurricane unleashed by his notary registration of a conversation with an official from Moncloa who forwarded him the email in which the partner of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel, allegedly known to have paid tax crimes.
Juan Lobato has resigned as general secretary of the PSOE Madrid, following the controversy over recording before a notary a private conversation with a Moncloa official, Pilar Sánchez Acera, related to the case of Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s friend.
“I have made the decision not to continue,” he stated in a letter to the militancy sent to the media, stating that his resignation was intended to “put an end to a situation of confrontation and serious division ” which was generated within the PSOE of Madrid.
It puts an end to the near-unanimous votes within the Madrid PSOE that demanded his head after ‘betraying’ the party.
He was publicly questioned on Monday and convicted yesterday. Meanwhile, the Madrid Socialists are waiting for the arrival of the Minister of Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, as Ferraz’s attempt to put an end to a new turbulent chapter of the Madrid federation.
