For many legal guardians, the parent-teacher conference is merely a mandatory event. Even if the certificate is actually in order. Learning techniques trainer Angela Schmidt explains in the krone.tv interview why the children should definitely come along.
After the first few months in the classroom, school conversations begin. Parents sit opposite the teacher and talk about their child’s performance. Can mom and dad do something wrong? Angela Schmidt, company spokeswoman for “LernQuadrat” and learning technology trainer, advises: “I recommend talking to the child before the consultation day.” Questions like: “What can you do better?”
In this way, the teaching team can respond even better to the individual concerns of the students. Such conversations are even ‘more important than the grade’, says the expert. Because: “If I really give the child tips on how to do better next time, then they have the opportunity to change something and they can ultimately get better grades.”
You can watch the entire conversation in the video above.
