Tech billionaire Elon Musk has donated more than 250 million dollars (237.19 million euros) to support Donald Trump’s election campaign. This was reported by American media, citing newly published figures from the US Election Commission.
At least $238 million, the lion’s share of the donations, went to Musk’s organization ‘America PAC’, which the entrepreneur founded, CNN reported.
“America PAC” supported the election campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The 53-year-old entrepreneur Musk leads, among others, the electric car manufacturer Tesla and the space company SpaceX.
Musk becomes Trump’s austerity master
Musk must help Trump reduce government spending. He is expected to take over the leadership of a specially created advisory committee with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk and Ramaswamy’s work is expected to be completed by July 2026.
Republican Trump clearly won the presidential election. On January 20, he will be sworn in as president of the US for the second time.
