“You’re accepted!” – you’re accepted! Newly elected US President Donald Trump has appointed the producer of his TV show ‘The Apprentice’, Mark Burnett, as special envoy to Britain.
Mark Burnett will seek to improve diplomatic relations and focus on “trade, investment opportunities and cultural exchanges,” Trump wrote on his short-message service Truth Social on Saturday.
Was chairman of the MGM Group
The 64-year-old British-born Burnett made Trump famous worldwide with ‘The Apprentice’ and was involved as a creator or producer in ‘Survivor’ and ‘Shark Tank’, among others. He was also chairman of the MGM Worldwide Television Group. Trump has nominated businessman Warren Stephens as US ambassador to Britain.
Billionaire becomes ambassador to Italy
Billionaire Tilman Fertitta will become ambassador to Italy under Trump. He is the owner of the Houston Rockets basketball team and a catering and gaming company.
Fertitta, a 67-year-old Texan, is chairman and owner of Landry’s, a company that operates numerous restaurants, hotels and casinos across the country. Trump praised Fertitta as a “successful businessman” and philanthropist on his Truth Social platform.
