The Freedom Party is currently on the rise. With Udo Landbauer, they have appointed a state deputy for the first time, on whom the black coalition partner is actually dependent after the loss of the absolute. In the federal government, Purkersdorfer Herbert Kickl celebrated a triumph, and before that they also dominated the EU elections. In the municipalities, the FPÖ is now competing for votes with more candidates than ever before in Lower Austria. Apart from isolated half-term solutions and renegade ex-Blues, there was still no real FPÖ mayor in Lower Austria. That should change now.
