“Kron”: Has skiing really become that expensive?
Gunther Aigner: Yes, in a price basket I examined from eleven Austrian ski areas, the ski day ticket for 2024/25 has increased by 6.2 percent. With a comparison over two years by 17 percent, with a comparison over three years even by 26.5 percent. Simply put, skiing has only become cheaper for those who have experienced a nearly 30 percent increase in income since the pandemic.
