US President Donald Trump has increased the rates for Chinese import by ten percentage points. Now the Chinese government has announced a counter -reaction: it will also increase imports for certain goods from the US, especially on fossil fuels.
15 percent rates must be requested on coal and liquid gas, and ten for crude oil and other industrial products. They must be in force next Monday, said the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing.
As reported, Trump signed a decree on Saturday about the customs allowances for Chinese products. An extra set of ten percent is added to the existing rates. Initially, rates of up to 25 percent were also intended for products from Canada and Mexico. After conversations with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Trump exposed the rates for a month.
Now he announced soon -to talk to China. The US president had also threatened Europe with rates. “This will certainly happen for the European Union,” he said on Saturday. In the beginning there was no information about a possible height and products.
