Exactly 25 years ago the first black and blue coalition was praised. A quarter of a century later there could be a blue and black government. It is still being demonstrated. At the time against Jörg Haider, today against Herbert Kickl. Gast in Club 3 is the former club chairman of the ÖVP Andreas Khol, the FPö-Close Communication Consultant Heimo Lepuschitz and author and journalist Stefan Kaltenbrunner.
The conversations between the FPö and the ÖVP are difficult. Until now, little concrete of the negotiations has become known. There was also disagreement in the discussion program “Club 3” or government formation between the two parties could actually occur. A particularly controversial subject is the possible chancellery of FPö Boss Herbert Kickl. The author and journalist Stefan Kaltenbrunner expressed considerable criticism of the program and warned of “non -repairable damage to Austria” if the ÖVP Kickl actually changes a chancellor. This was more optimistic about this, the former chairman of the National Council Andreas Khol and emphasized that “everything was still open”. “We have to work on finally,” says strategy adviser Heimo Lepuschitz.
European asylum policy
The European asylum policy, in particular the so-called Dublin system, has been criticized for years and is generally considered to fail. Originally, the Dublin Treaty must ensure that asylum seekers submit their application in the EU country in which they first enter European soil. This principle was aimed at guaranteeing a fair distribution of asylum procedures in the European Union and preventing multiple applications. However, the former ÖVP club chairman Khol is certain: “There is no European asylum policy.”
