Who sends the FPÖ to the election for the Federal President? The candidate will be proposed around July 9, as FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl reveals to the “Krone” – and he gives lawyer Susanne Fürst roses beforehand.
During the free tour of Austria, FPÖ federal party leader Herbert Kickl is on his way in Tyrol. But patience is still needed for the blue candidate for the presidential election on October 9. “We will announce our candidate around July 9. Three months is a damn long time for an election campaign,” Kickl explains to the “Krone.”
“I am confident that Fürst will deliver a very, very good result”
Confronted with the FPÖ’s constitutional spokeswoman in the National Council, Susanne Fürst, who has been considered a promising blue candidate for months, Kickl says: “She is a very hot stock.” And he courted her: “As a lawyer, she is an excellent expert in the field of basic and freedom problems. In addition, as the head of the FPÖ, it is nice to see that I am no longer asked where the women are within the party, but that everyone is talking about a strong, free woman. I trust that Fürst will have a very, very good result if she becomes our candidate.”
‘Krone’ columnist Tassilo Wallentin is also considered a candidate. Kickl: “I hear a lot of names, most of them are smoke and mirrors. But he writes excellent columns.”
