APA/ATV Poll – Two-thirds dissatisfied with government work

Date:

The federal government’s testimony is poor: More than two-thirds are dissatisfied with their jobs, an APA/ATV survey now finds. The SPÖ would receive the most votes with 29 percent, followed by the ÖVP and FPÖ (22 percent each). If the chancellor could be directly elected, incumbent Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) would be just ahead of SPÖ leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner.

FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl would get 20 percent, NEOS boss Beate Meinl-Reisinger ten and vice-chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) only nine percent. At the end of June, 800 people aged 16 and over were interviewed for the study. An important result is that 69 percent are not satisfied with the work of the Turquoise-Green coalition. The two ruling parties were not even able to convince everyone of their own voters. 30 percent of the ÖVP voters are dissatisfied, with the Greens even 44 percent.

In contrast, about one in four respondents is satisfied with the work of the government. If there were elections to the National Council, the SPÖ would win them with 29 percent of the vote. In second place are the ÖVP and FPÖ tied at 22 percent. Every tenth would vote for the Greens, the same goes for NEOS. The MFG, which is not yet represented in the National Council, comes in at five percent. The last National Council election in 2019 was won by the ÖVP (37.5 percent). The SPÖ and FPÖ came in second and third. The Greens were slightly above the current survey, the NEOS fared worse.

Pandemic and Effects of War Tension
Another result of the survey is that the vast majority (67 percent) feel burdened by the consequences of the corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
