The Romanian constitutional court has confirmed the exclusion of a pro -Russian candidate. Calin Georgescu will not appear on the mood as a presidential candidate. For the 62-year-old this means the last of his candidacy.
The ultra-right candidate of the American vice-president JD Vance and Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin no longer has opposition options. The electoral committee found that Georgescu’s actions and statements in flagrant contradiction with the values, which assume the highest office in the state.
In the opinion of the Constitutional Court, the election committee also referred to the cancellation of the presidential election. The election committee argued that the candidacy of a person, whose limit is de facto, was clearly not -inadmissible.
The first round of the presidential election was canceled at the beginning of December last year by the Constitutional Hutten because of the knowledge of the secret services of the country and some NATO partners about a massive election of Russia in favor of Georescus that was clearly denied by US Vice Vance on the München Security Conference.
Rights must reorganize themselves
The UltraWettenkamp from Romania is now without a presidential candidate, where the time pushes the deadline for presidential applications will take place on March 15. According to the Romanian media, the head of the right -wing populist Aur, George Simion, will probably be set up as a replacement candidate.
Until now, Simion had refused to start again, but will probably be pushed by his party to another candidacy. In the first round of the presidential elections in the late autumn 2024, Simion had carefully cut out and did not make it to the Runoff election.
The Romanian political observers therefore assume that Simion in the hope of increasing his popularity and survey values, will trust a kind of “ticket” with Georgescu and the election campaign could start with the promise to name the last in the case of his election.
