Together with Minister of Finance Markus Marterbauer (Spö), the styrics ÖVP-State Secretary Barbara Eibinger-Miedl must renovate the state finance “in a wide range of coexistence”, as the politician explains in an interview with the “Kroon”.
The depth Red Viennese employees treasurer and the Black Styrian economic politician as leadership in the Ministry of Finance: Can this work?
And or, says ÖVP State Secretary Barbara Eibinger-Miedl. The 45-year-old with many years of experience as an economic and most recently in the blue and black styric government and a financial council is optimistic. “Marterbauer and I only got to know each other on the day of the angry, but I think we complement each other well.”
It is assured of a respectful way from the start. This is not always possible with mixed controls. They can be very explosive and an example, the heavily tense relationship between the then FPö Interior Minister Herbert Kickl and “his” ÖVP State Secretary Karoline Edtstadler is mentioned, also between the green minister Leonore Leonore Gewessler and her ÖVP State Secretary Magnus Brunner.
“Needs a wide range of cooperation”
The State Secretary and the Minister are aware that, given the dramatic challenges in the renovation of the exploding state budget, can only be done together. And not only that, Eibinger-Miedl emphasizes: “For such large tasks, a broad collaboration is also required with the opposition.” In the budget committee, the collaboration with the FPö is also “quite constructive”. Probably no disadvantage that Eibinger-Miedl comes from a state coalition with the blue.
Finally, Eibinger-Miedl again emphasizes her good relationship with Marterbauer when she says: “He is a mountain climber, he knows that we have to form a good rope team.”
