The US government now apparently wants to get even more out of a raw material agreement with Ukraine. Donald Trump is supposed to push behind the scenes to gain access to all means of the country. In the meantime, Wladimir Putin has completely different ideas – and threatens with a “grace”.
Since various people relied on current negotiations, the US of Ukraine apparently proposed a more extensive mineral agreement. This also came from a summary of a corresponding proposal that is available. The United States have revised its original proposal, the insiders said.
This does not give Ukraine future security guarantees, but requires that it pays all income through the use of natural resources, which are managed by national and private companies in the Ukrainian area, in a joint investment fund. Finance Minister Scott Bessent led the negotiations for the United States, one of the insiders said.
The spokesperson for the National Security Council, James Hewitt, refused to confirm the conditions of the youngest proposal, but said that things would strengthen the relationships between the US and Ukraine. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately respond to a request for comments. Some Ukrainian officials, however, expressed their concern about the agreement. Words like “theft” fall in Kiev. The deal threatens national sovereignty and economic independence.
Putin wants to replace the government in Kyiv
New pressure also comes from Moscow for Ukraine.
