After the vote on the industrial area in Unterbürg in St. Johann in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel, the spirits are heated. The local chef asks on Facebook to leave peace again. The reason for this: his partner was spit in the village.
“Are you as a commercial area for the dedication of the 7.5 hectare area of Unterbürg?” The citizens of St. Johann voted for this question last Sunday. The project has been disputed in the village for many years. Almost 8,000 eligible voters were called up for the polls. Only 3414 people used their voting rights, as the “Tyrolean Krone” reported.
The result as a memory: 1902 voters (55.83 percent) voted against a change, 1505 (44.17 percent) would have been happy to see the commercial area. As is known, an advocate of the project is or was also mayor Stefan Seiwald.
Environmental reports on similar incidents
Apparently the mood in the lower state community seems to have been heated after the survey. In any case, this can be found in a placement of the mayor on Facebook.
In the late Wednesday evening he wrote that “today my partner was spit by an opponent of the Unterbürg project in the middle of the village. Only because she is my partner.” Moreover, she was “partner of the mayor of the village of Kaiser, who ignored the concerns of the citizens”. Seiwald also writes: “My family, friends and people from my area also report similar incidents.”
“Don’t blame family and environment”
Because of this post, the “Kroon” wanted to speak to the local chef personally. According to his office, however, he was not available all day. It is therefore not known whether Seiwald filed a complaint with the police.
In his placement he asks the St. Johanner to “not blame my family and my environment for decisions that criticize you. And don’t insult them.”
