Counselor Bingen Zupiria announces an employment plan that provides for new public offers, internal promotions and greater involvement of the Arkaute Academy.
The Basque Government Department of Security has initiated the procedures to extend the Ertzaintza staff to 8,000 agents in 2030. This was announced on Tuesday by the Minister Bingen Zupiria after the meeting of the administrative council, in which he presented the bases of the new work plan of the Basque Autonomous Police.
The aim is to handle the pension that is planned in the coming years and to maintain the maximum number of troops that the Security Board has determined that since 2005 that roof determines that roof in 8,000 agents. For this, the Basque government offers new public employment calls, promotion courses and an activation of the optional and technical scale, hardly used so far.
The proposal will be dealt with on Wednesday in the Ertzintza Council, where police unions are represented. According to Zupiria, negotiation will focus on identifying personnel needs and defining the ways to meet them, including selection, training and internal promotion criteria.
One of the pillars of the plan will be the Basque police and emergency situationswhose training activity will be considerably strengthened. The Counselor has even raised the boarding school in Arkaute to generate “trust and cohesion among students. To do this, the infrastructure will be expanded and the number of teachers and resources will be increased.
This initiative responds to the commitment collected in the government program of the XIII -lawful power, including the Modernization of the structure of Ertzaintza As one of the strategic objectives. The Basque Executive has already agreed with the trade unions the text of the new regulatory agreement, which is located in the administrative phase.
The security department has also promised to present a detailed plan to cover places and calls, such as the Basque parliament for the first quarter of this year.
