“Unjust law” – Out for mandatory vaccination: FPÖ thanks the protesters

Date:

The obligation to vaccinate will be abolished. The National Council will take care of that on Thursday. Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) justified the measure with “completely different conditions” than when it was introduced. VP Mandate Josef Smolle also referred to the less lethal omicron variant, immunization through vaccination and the availability of drugs. The FPÖ, meanwhile, thanked the protesters.

The opposition’s obligation to vaccinate will not disappear. When it comes to mandatory vaccination, at least the government blunder will come to an end, says SP health spokesman Philip Kucher. In addition to his own party, liberal health spokesman Gerhard Kaniak also thanked the “protesters against the unjust law” who made the decision possible on Thursday.

There were never any fines
The vaccination requirement, which was only introduced at the beginning of February, has recently been suspended. In any case, there were never any sanctions, as the obligation only came into effect in the initial phase, when no sanctions were imposed. The obligation applied to persons older than 18 years of age. Originally, sanctions were foreseen between 600 and 3600 euros.

Vaccination mandatory for soldiers in Germany
The corona vaccination obligation for German soldiers will be maintained. This was decided by the 1st Senate for military service of the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig on Thursday. He rejected the complaints of two Air Force officers against including the corona vaccination in the so-called obligation to tolerate. The lieutenant colonels saw their fundamental right to bodily integrity violated. The decision is final. In Austria, soldiers must be vaccinated when deployed abroad.
