Russia is ready for a deal with the US to end the Ukraine war, it is said. But sharing the possible agreement still need “fine adjustment”, says the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lawrow. US President Donald Trump also sees great progress in the negotiations.
Lavrow sees the negotiations on the right track, but sharing the agreement should still be adjusted. “We are working on this process,” says Lawrow in an interview from the American broadcaster CBS. “There are various signs that we move in the right direction,” said the most important diplomat.
Trump also confidently
US President Donald Trump is also convinced that there will soon be a peace agreement. According to him, the Kremlin of Ukraine is already accommodating because Russia no longer wants to fully conquer his neighboring country.
“Ending the war and not taking the entire country? A pretty big concession,” says Trump about the Moscow’s concessions in the negotiations. Since the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has been checking about one fifth of the neighboring country.
“We want to end this war, we want to end it quickly. And I think we have made great progress and we will see what will happen in the coming days,” says Trump. He emphasizes that he exerts “a lot of pressure” on Russia.
Russia continues to bomb
In the meantime, Russia continues to attack Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian air force, the Russian forces attacked 103 drones on Friday evening. In the regions of Kharkiw, Sumy, Tscherkassy, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, the attacks caused damage.
The night before, at least twelve people died during air strikes on the capital Kiev. Trump also criticized the procedure. “Vladimir, stop!” Trump writes on his Platform Truth Social to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
