The husband of the former American Vice President Kamala Harris has been released from the Board of Directors of the Washington Holocaust Museum. According to Doug Emhoff, US President Donald Trump is behind it.
Emhoff accused the Republican political reasons for his release. “The memory of the Holocaust and Holocaust formation should never be politized,” wrote Kamala Harris’s husband on the Platform X. “To make one of the worst atrocities in history, a dispute is dangerous and does not remind the memory of six million Jews,” he added. Despite his release, he would continue to commemorate the Holocaust.
Emhoff itself is a Jew and was appointed by the predecessor of Trump in the Museum’s board of directors. 55 of the 63 members of the committee are usually determined by the president. The “New York Times” reported that other councilors had also been released, including Joe Biden’s former Chief of Staff Ron Klain and the former security adviser Barack Obama, Susan Rice.
In February, Trump had already released several members of the Board of Directors of the Washington Kennedy Center and appointed himself as the chairman of the Cultural Center – an unprecedented step. The president said he would make sure there are no “wokes” anymore. For example, he wants to ban Dreag Queens.
