Meeting with Salvini – “Duce” granddaughter joins Right Lega in Italy

The Dictator character Alessandra Mussolini has left the judge -conservative Forza Italia to join the right Lega. The former Italian MP will meet Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini in the coming days to formally seal the change.

Alessandra Mussolini is the daughter of the “Duce” son Romano Mussolini and his first wife Maria Scicolone, the sister of actress Sophia Loren. She looks back on a long political career that she started the election as MP in Rome in 1992. From 1992 to 2004 and from 2008 to 2013 she was one of the Italian representative room, after which it was in the Senate. In 2019, the 62-year-old was then elected in the European Parliament. A year ago, however, she missed the re -election.

Alessandra Mussolini’s half -sister Rachele is also in politics. The 50-year-old was chosen by the Roman city councilor as a representative of the right-wing brothers of Italy (Fratelli d’Italia). Then she moved to Forza Italia, which was founded by the late former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Alessandra and Rachele have the same father, the fourth son of Mussolini, who himself was a pianist. Rachele, who carries the first name of her grandmother, the wife of Benito Mussolini, is the daughter of Romano Mussolini’s second wife Carla Puccini. According to their own statement, both are proud to bear the name of the fascist ruler Mussolini (1883 to 1945).
