After a real municipal council meeting marathon with some heated discussions, the budget input made after hours of voting. He was eventually decided with the voices of the FSP and Spö.
Many austerity measures that the consolidation bar had proposed in its report were decided yesterday in the city council with the voices of Mayor Party FSP and the Spö. But two large chunks were missing: on the one hand a zerooon round in 2025, and on the other hand the removal of the indoor swimming pool.
Tax adviser Peter Pilz had already considerably pronounced the construction of this project in the afternoon, and the reconciliation of the “Indoor Polar loan” was also called. Because despite all other planned austerity measures, a large financial gap could open quickly and thus threaten insolvency.
The head of the Klagenfurt Finance Department, Christoph Wutte, also suffered serious criticism when the provisional attack of the budget itself was on the agenda. “We actually have to map out a balanced household,” Wutte warns. The draft is in contradiction with the orders of municipal supervision – precisely because inner loans are not returned, but still be included and no “right -wing in accordance and financial stable state” is achieved.
Supported, no voice for a name
Financial officer Constance Mohar, however, shows little understanding of the objections and the two parties FSP and Spö were not deterred. When voting around 11.30 am, the estimate was decided by 25 to 18 votes. The question was always in the background whether municipal councils should be liable for a budget in the event of bankruptcy. The financial experts have warned about this themselves.
That is why Neos -Baas Janos Juvan spoke shortly before the vote: “I would submit the application that we would vote by name to ensure that we have absolute clarity with regard to the result or who has voted.” The Mandatars of FSP and Spö, however, did not want to confess that much about the estimate and prevented this with their voices.
