The Lower Austrian Alois Mock Institute, which made headlines for payments from the gaming group Novomatic, has been shut down. Chairman Christian Rädler announced this on Tuesday. The fake institute made headlines because of payments from the gaming group Novomatic.
The opposition suspects that money has flowed to the ÖVP through the association. The Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) also investigated the cause, but did not start an investigation after a project report. The President of the National Council Wolfgang Sobotka (ÖVP) was the presidency in mock-Institute repeatedly stood his ground in Ibiza’s Commission of Inquiry, of which he was also chairman.
It was recently announced that the tax office Lilienfeld in St. Pölten – of course without being commissioned by the Ministry of Finance – has carried out an income survey for the mockInstitute, which, however, were not initially forwarded to the ÖVP inquiry committee. The SPÖ is reminiscent of the Causa Wirtschaftsbund Vorarlberg. Chairman Rädler gave the pandemic, which made events impossible, as the reason for the dissolution.
