According to EH Bildu, the controversy that arose between the Basque and Spanish governments around the debate on energy efficiency is another sign that this debate has taken place “against” to the department headed by Arantxa Tapia. They have said of the party that they have always been in favor of applying “as soon as possible” measures in this regard.

The Sovereign Party has expressed in a note that “a good example of this” is the interpellation he handed over to the Basque Parliament a few months ago, “which was initially despised by the government on the same pretext they now use, that they have been working on this issue for decades.” He emphasizes that it was “because of the initiative of the sovereign left that started in the CAV with a proposal for energy efficiency, and not because of the will or initiative of Minister Tapia.”

“EH Bildu has always been for promoting energy efficiency measures and reducing consumption,” he added, as it is a “key element” in the fight against climate change.

EH Picture has defended “structural” and “urgent” measures which, he says, has worked and presented in the institutions, although “they are not always attended by the Basque government and the parties that make up it”.

Finally, EH Bildu believes there must be measures aimed at controlling energy consumption: “the high energy price is a measure aimed at controlling energy consumption, but this is a totally non-supportive measure, as those who have the means can afford them indefinitely and those who do not suffer from it and in some cases can’t afford it.”

He further underlined that: people with fewer resources They have been implementing energy efficiency measures “for a long time” due to the impossibility of access due to the scarcity of economic resources. In turn, he reminded Minister Tapia that structural measures are the most efficient, but he asked her “where are these measures taken by the Basque government”.
