The Barcelonan Pol Retamal agree to 200 meters final of the European Championships in Munich after the third in his series and entering the hours (20.38) with the seventh best score among all participants.
Retamal, 23, was exempted from playing in the first qualifying round and began his participation directly in the semifinals.
The Catalan athlete, trained by David Ruiz, ran in the third series and finished in third position with 20.38, a record seventh best among all finalists.
The fastest is the British Zharnel Hughesrunner-up in this same European event in the 100 meters, going into the final as top favorite for gold with a time of 20.19.
Another Spaniard in the competition, Granada Daniel Rodríguez, was left in the final. He competed in the second heat, placing fifth and, with a score of 20.75is far from the cut marked at 20.38.
