“It’s not positive for Athletic or for women’s football”

Date:

Jon Uriarte, president of Athletic, spoke yesterday from Tenerife about the suspension of the matches on the first day of the First Women’s Division of Spain due to the refusal of the referees to face the fields where they were assigned. The leader of the rojiblanco club accompanied the lions on their trip to this Canary Island, but had to settle for attending the friendly organized by the two teams involved in this postponement.

“We arrived in Tenerife with the first women’s team to accompany them in this first match, the opening match of this exciting season. We arrived with great enthusiasm, with the desire to end the curse in Granadilla pitch, and we found a bad surprise because the game was suspended”, began Uriarte in a video broadcast by Athletic himself.

});

The rojiblanco president indicated that “it (the suspension) has caused us many ailments. We have been working for many weeks to play a good role here, apart from the departure, the money involved and if what a disappointment not to be able to start Kasama in the league.”

Uriarte ended his speech stating that “that is why we ask all the parties involved to find a solution as soon as possible because it is not positive for Athletic or for women’s football”.
