Julen Lopetegui, coach of Sevilla, left satisfied with his team’s match in Copenhagen.
“It was a very difficult course and it was a shame not to hit the four or five clear chances we had. This is the first point in the Champions League. We wanted three points and we didn’t get them because of the lack of success in the first half. In football without victory in places that are difficult to win”, indicated the Basque coach, happy for “the first clean sheet of the season in a very difficult field”.
“When you don’t get it right, it’s hard to win, but very few teams win it. We deserved to win the game, but if you don’t get it, it’s complicated. We didn’t lose our composure at the back, although we ended up playing with players who were not at their best. We left sad because we wanted to win,” he added.
The Basque highlighted one of his favorite pupils: “Isco has played a good game without being at his best level, but we need the rest to improve their performance. Lopetegui insists the future in the Champions League is between Sevilla and Dortmund. “We have one point and we will play in the double match with Borussia Dortmund for the pass. There are 12 points left, the trip to Manchester and hosting Copenhagen at home, but the direct confrontation with Dortmund will be very important”.
