Rahm remains sixth in the top 10 with Fitzpatrick opening

English Matt Fitzpatrick reached his best ranking ever by entering the last position of a top10 led by American Scottie Schefflerfollowed by Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and Cameron Smith of Australia, where Jon Rahm remains in sixth position.

The second position at the Italian Open allowed Fitzpatrick to climb one step, reach his best classification and be placed tenth in the world list, where the Norwegian Viktor Hovland appeared.

Scotsman Robert Macintyre, winner in Italy, settled in 68th place, gaining 42 steps.

Smith, champion of this Sunday’s LIV Invitational in Chicago, remains in third position on the podium although it improves the average points to 9.01; while American Max Homa, who revalidated his Fortinet Championship title, moved up to 16th place, his best historical classification, from 22nd.

Rahm (7.33) maintains distances with the fifth classified American Xander Schauffele (7.40)while the fourth is still the American Patrick Cantlay (8.39).

The Spaniards classified in the top100 are Pablo Larrazábal (70), Adri Arnaus (71) and Sergio García (77).
