The captains of Ryder Cup 2023, Luke Donald and Zach Johnsonposed this Tuesday next to the monumental Rome Coliseum and hit a few shots as part of Ryder Cup rallies Year To Go (a year before Ryder’s dispute with Marco Simone Golf & CC located outside the Italian capital), which will end this Wednesday in an audience at the Vatican with Pope Francis.
The night before, accompanied by 200 guests, Donald and Johnson attended a spectacular gala dinner Palazzo Colonnain the heart of the city, which houses one of the most impressive art collections in Rome.
European Captain Donald was accompanied by his wife Diane and American Captain Johnson by his wife Kim.
Donald and Johnson took part in a question-and-answer session hosted by BBC golf correspondent Iain Carter.
Marco Simone will host the Ryder Cup in the week of September 26 to October 1, 2023.
