The Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who finished third in the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix, declared at the Suzuka circuit that he congratulated Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who “deserved it”for the revalidation of the world champion title, which the Dutchman mathematically certified this Sunday, by winning the track in Mie prefecture.
“Congratulations to Max (Verstappen) and Red Bull for an incredible season. They did a great job and deserve the title“, explained Leclerc, 24, who gave second place in the World Cup to Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), who had 253 points, more than him.
“We will use the last four races to work on our race implementation, tire management and being a better team in all aspects, to face the next season with better guarantees”, commented Leclerc, five-time winner of F1, three of them this year.
“We have made some important steps in the right direction in the last two races, and we will continue to push in this direction until the end of the season,” Leclerc said on Sunday after finishing third in the Japanese Grand Prix.
