Casa de Vacas del Parque del Buen Retiro is the setting chosen by Spanish Rowing Federation to show the LXXIV Spanish Yalas Championship of 2022 to be held next weekend of October 22 and 23 in the Estanque Grande natural area in the center of Madrid.
At the presentation event, in addition to the leaders of the Spanish and Madrid rowing federations, rowers will be present Aleix Garcia, Rodrigo Conde, Jaime Canalejo and Javier Garcia who won the silver medal at the last world championships and showed their satisfaction in competing in Madrid.
It is a competition in which more than twenty rowing clubs will participate, including Club Retiro 66, which acts as host, and more than two hundred rowers will compete on Saturday in the preliminary rounds and on Sunday in the finals for the title.
About the Yolas modality
The yolas modality is framed within the sport of rowing as one of the oldest celebrated in Spain since 1902 and that is contested in regattas of four, with turns every 250 or 500 meters. The modalities, both male and female, will be divided into Cadets, Youth, Absolute and Veterans categories.
So, the Estanque Grande del Retiro will be the center of Spanish rowing on the weekend of October 22 and 23, hosting an event that returns to the Madrid park after seven years and hopes to be framed in a very positive day for this sport.
