Sergi Darder’s reflection that everyone should hear

Date:

Sergio Dardercaptain of RCD Espanyolwent through the microphones of ‘the one you play‘ of SER Catalunya before visiting, next Sunday, the Atletico Madrid at Cívitas Metropolitano, a stadium where he already knows what it means to win.

“My head gets me into worse situations every day”

In addition to analyzing all the Blue and White news, the Artà midfielder left an interesting reflection when he recognized the importance of putting himself in the hands of professionals at the worst moment of his career. “My talent is always the same, not better or worse. But my head leads me to a worse situation every day, every day I am a worse player, every day more I have low confidence in myself and that means it’s not positive in the level of camaraderie. If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s hard to see the positive side of football.

“In this sense, now I trust myself a lot. The coach, the psychologist have helped me downplay things that really don’t have it. That’s why I surely understand the criticism we have now for having 11 points, because I was a person that if we had 11 points three years ago I would also say: ‘Ostia, we are going to Second!’ But now my thoughts are that I see everything as positive. We have lost some games, we have competed against all teams and I can say we deserve more. Certainly with 3-4-5 more points we will see another braver Spaniard, braver in everything. I’m not only talking about the players, but the people will push us even more with this positive dynamic. That’s why I say that I see things in a more optimistic way than before, certainly thanks to this psychological aspect, something that used to cost me more”, concluded the midfielder, emphasizing the importance of mental health.
