0-2: Ayacucho defeated Wilstermann at home

Ang Ayacucho Peru added its first three points in the Copa Sudamericana by losing to Wilsterman bolivian by 0-2 on the second date of group D.

Francis Duclos opened the scoring for the team led by Uruguayan Alejandro Apud in the 9th minute and the Uruguayan Christian Techera he scored second in the 78th minute of the game, playing at the Félix Capriles stadium in Cochabamba, at an altitude of 2,558 meters.

The result temporarily put the ‘Foxes’ in first position of group D along with Brazilian Sao Paulo, who this Thursday will face Chilean Everton.

While Wilstermann, led by Chilean Miguel Ponce, was late by goal difference.

The ‘aviadores’ were surprised in the 9th minute by the good connection of headers between Mexican Othoniel Arce and Duclos, who inserted the ball into the goal guarded by Colombian José Escobar.

Three minutes later Argentine Javier Sanguinetti was able to equalize the locals, but his shot ended up falling on the crossbar.

Duclos missed the opportunity to add to the score in the 20th minute in a game somewhat similar to Peru’s first goal.

The squad led by Ponce insisted on asking for a draw, but lacked precision and also ran into a solid Andy Vidal on goal by the ‘Foxes’.

By the end of the first half, a retaliatory attack by the visitors almost resulted in a goal, but ‘aviador’ defender Edemir Rodríguez was able to clear the ball in time.

The second half was pretty even, as in their attempts to score, Wilstermann provided gaps that resulted in counter-attacks by Apud’s staff.

In the 75th minute, there was no more chance for the ‘flyers’ to match, as none of the players in the area were able to take advantage of Brazilian Serginho’s beautiful center.

The visitors achieved their second conquest in the 78th minute, with help from Robert Ardiles for Techera, who easily tricked Escobar and Rodríguez to score.

On the third date, Ayacucho will visit Everton and Wilstermann will host in Sao Paulo.
