Ramón Recatalá from Castellón, winner of the Spanish Trail Cup, triumphs in the ultra test of Cehegín

Two height winners for a great edition of the Falco Trail, the most prestigious mountain race held annually in the region of Murcia. Ramón Recatalá from Castellón, whose record holds the title of Spanish trail champion, and Ana Cristina Constantin, a Romanian from Madrid, triumphed on Saturday in the 71-kilometer Ultra Trail, with a cumulative drop of 4,415.62 meters and whose route was promoted to the Peña Rubia, As de Copas, Pico del Águila and Campanario.

More than 1,300 runners took to the mountains of Cehegín for a highly consolidated test on the calendar with national and international participation. Recatalá, from Mur i Castell-Tuga, stopped the clock in 7 hours, 52 minutes and 8 seconds, followed by Juan Miguel Chachón, from Club Deportivo Los Saltabojas (8.10:12) and Jesús Álvez, from IAB Berga (8.19:36) . . Constantin (10.13.10), one of the best specialists in the country, was accompanied on stage by María Isabel Fuentes, from Runtritón Cartagena (10.15:50), and Esther Sánchez from Murcia, ‘La Faraona’, from CD Kampamento Base (11:27.29).

In addition, victory in the 46-kilometer test went to Francisco Díaz Pozo, from Union, of the Roller Masters (5.01:05). In second place was Antonio Alfonso Ruiz of Lorca, of Fulfilling Dreams (5.12:56), and José Luis Felis, of Mur i Castell-Tuga (5.21:26), was third. In the women’s category, the victory went to María Victoria Soler from Lorca, from Apat Lorca Fulfilling Dreams (6.23:32), followed by Silvia Serafín and Laura Ruiz.

Finally, in the 22 kilometer half marathon, the victory went to Rodrigo Monasor, of Salomon Spain (2:00:18) and to Fátima Ortega, of Abarán Ulevel Athletics (2:37:10).
