The executive director of adidasBjorn Gulden, stated that the German brand could not match the offer of Nike for sponsoring Germany’s national soccer federation, after the American company ousted Adidas from its home turf last month to end its 70-year association with the federation.
Nike has overtaken Adidas to become the official supplier of the German Football Association (DFB) and will supply all national teams between 2027 and 2034. “I’m not mad at all,” Gulden said in response to a question at a conference press. “We are a company that has to balance costs and profits and the price quoted in the press paid by our competitor we will not pay,” he added.
