The fees paid for the services of mediators of clubs will reach 584.93 million euros in 2022, according to the report of international transfer intermediaries published by FIFA.
It represents a 24.3% increase in club spending on fees compared to 2021 and 4.9% lower than the record level of spending on brokerage fees set in 2019 at €614.89.
Participating clubs were used intermediaries in 1,532 international migrations, what the marking represents 22.4% increase compared to 2021 and the highest total ever. At the same time, service fees paid to intermediaries representing the attractive club also reached a new all-time high of €422.73 million, surpassing the previous record set in 2019 of €399.72 million.
Rise in women’s soccer
The number of transfers in women’s football with intermediaries grew by 42.9% in 2022 compared to 2021. The proportion of transfers with intermediaries acting for the participating club also increased from 5.4% in 2021 to 6.6 % in 2022. Finally, intermediaries representing players participated in 340 international transfers of players. This represents 22.3% of international transfers, a figure higher than the corresponding figure in men’s football (15.3%).
The clubs europeans represent the 96.2% of 584.93 million euros spent on intermediation service fees, led by England (190.84 million euros), Italy (83.12 million euros), Portugal (61.89 million), Spain (56.73 million), Germany (52.69 million) and France (28.18 million) are responsible for only 80.9% of the total worldwide.
Finally, there is 3,086 international transfers where the player is represented by one or more intermediaries (15.3% of all transfers). This is a record and represents an increase of 17.7% compared to 2021.
