The Chilean tennis player Bastián Malla, who was fined one month for using cannabis in 2022, received an additional two-month suspension. after failing to complete a mandatory rehabilitation program.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported the penalty on Tuesday.
The player was originally suspended for three months, which was reduced to oneafter testing positive for the use of cannabis, one of the substances prohibited by the ITIA.
After failing to confirm that he underwent the mandatory treatment included in that punishment, Malla was suspended for another two months, which will run from December 19 to February 18, 2023.
