The race, which will be held on February 5, is integrated into the National Master
The city of Murcia is heating up. This Sunday, February 5, the TotalEnergies Murcia Costa Cálida Marathon is back, organized by Club Murcia Challenge, in collaboration with the City Council and the Regional Athletics Federation. The city is hosting the 10th edition of one of the most anticipated sporting events, consisting of three trials: a 42,195-meter (42K) marathon, a 21,097-meter half-marathon, and a 10-kilometer course.
With a forecast of more than 5,000 runners and participants from 50 countries, one of the sporting events with the highest anticipation arrives for Murcia, which has also reached another milestone in 2023 by being integrated into the Spanish Master Marathon Championship.
This great sporting event for the city was presented yesterday in Plaza Belluga with the help of the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano; the Vice Mayor, Mario Gómez; the Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Sports, Pedro García Rex; the general manager of local government, Francisco Abril; TotalEnergies Regional Representative, Salvador Navarro; the lieutenant colonel, Sebastián Zaragoza, and the test director, Francisco Sánchez
“The marathon is the queen of running and an example of athletes’ ability to excel, work and dedication. A sporting event, but also a social, educational and tourist event that makes our country even greater,” said Mayor José Antonio Serrano.
