Bad news for Milan ahead of this Sunday’s derby against Inter: Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer will feature, due to a slight injury to the left femoral biceps. An MRI confirmed the muscle damage suffered by the Milan midfielder, whose evolution will be reviewed by the doctors of the red and black club within a week.
Stefano Pioli, coach of Milan, is now considering who he will replace Bennacer (Tommaso Pobega, Rade Krunic or Aster Vranckx) to accompany Sandro Tonali in the difficult confrontation against Inter. In addition, Milan came off losing 0-3 against Inter in the Italian Super Cup, 4-0 against Lazio in Rome and 2-5 at the San Siro against Sassuolo.
Milan, current champions of Serie A, are now 5th in the table, outside the Champions area. The red and black are 15 points behind Napoli, leaders, and 2 from Inter, their eternal city rivals and 2nd in the table.
