Movistar trusts Gaviria ahead of Milan-Turin sprint opportunity

The Colombian Fernando Gaviria will be Movistar’s bet to aim for victory in the Milan-Turin sprint that takes place this Wednesdaywith a route of 192 km between Rho and Orbassano.

The Spanish formation will be built on the Italian classic with César Gaviria, Johan Jacobs, Iván Romeo, Gonzalo Serrano, Lluís Mas, Juri Hollmann and Oier Lazkano.

Milan-Turin will serve as an appetizer for Milan-San Remo which will take place next Saturdaya test for several sprinters who will aspire to glory in the ‘Classissima’.

The 192 km between Rho, west of the Lombard capital, and Orbassano, will not present a notable port. Ideal terrain for the talented groups to inspire the sprint three days before meeting against the best classics on the Via Roma.

THE WOMEN’S TEAM AT NOKERE KOERSE

Also on Wednesday, the women’s team will compete in Belgium with Nokere Koersea 129.2 km test where Movistar will start with Arlenis Sierra, Sheyla Gutiérrez, Alicia González, Gloria Rodríguez, Aude Biannic and Sara Martín.

Nokere Koerse presents a complex route, with hills and cobbled sections. After the initial section with five “pavé” areas and climbs to the Lange Ast, Tiegemberg, Holstraat and Petegemberg, a decisive double loop begins that has to overcome the Nokereberg three times and the Lange Ast twice, apart from one seven more sectors of cobblestones
