Eintracht Frankfurt defender Makoto Hasebe39, has extended his contract with the Europa League champions for one season, having arrived in 2014 from Nuremberg. Hasebecaptain of Japanesehas been an integral part of his current team’s successes, the Europa League and the German Cup achieved in 2018.
Besides Hasebe was Bundesliga champion in 2009 with the Wolfsburg. This season he played 16 games including eintracht and in total 279 games during his time at the said club.
“I am very happy to be able to continue playing in this club for another year and it is special to think that he will be part of it when he is 40 years old,” said the Japanese defender. “In fact I want to be a role model for young people, Frankfurt is my city and the Eintracht, my club, and I want to continue building it when I retire”.
