The Shenzhen Diamond League meeting has changed its first date to be held on September 2 and it will be the circuit’s only test this year in China, as reported by World Athletics on Thursday, which announced that the Shanghai event, scheduled for July 29, will not be held.
World Athletics has announced an update to the 2023 competition schedule including the change of date for the meeting in Shenzhen, which was from August 3 to September 2and the cancellation of Shanghai.
Shenzhen will mark the return of Diamond League in China for the first time in four years. The competition will be held at Bao’an Stadium, a venue with a capacity for 40,000 spectators that already hosted football at the 2011 Summer Universiade.
The meeting in Shenzhen will be the 11th Diamond League to be held in Chinaas Shanghai has been a fixture on the series calendar from 2010 to 2019.
