The Spanish Jorge Prado (GasGas) got the win on Trentino GPfourth exam of the queen category of world motocrossMXGP, and combined his lead with the general.
A victory in the first round and a third place in the second, after dominating a good part of the race, the Lugo driver got his first Grand Prix of the course, leading the standings with 201 points, compared to 184 for the Frenchman that of Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) and the 175 of Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings (KTM).
Although he ensured that he could not really find the rhythm throughout the weekend, Prado won the first round on Sunday with great authority, with more than twelve seconds ahead of Renaux, who ended up beating the Spanish Rubén Fernández (Honda ), where a mistake cost him second place.
Meanwhile, Herlings, five-time world champion, had problems at the start and could only finish in ninth place, further motivating him for the second race, where another bad start led to relegated to him in the opening laps.
It seemed that the victory would be made by Prado and Renaux, who quickly distanced themselves from the others, but Herlings’ comeback was amazing and, when the battle was closest between the Spanish and the French, he overtook them both and went inexorably towards the success
Renaux also overtook Prado, who, although he tried to make up ground and second place in the last few laps, finished third, allowing him to take the Grand Prix win ahead of the Frenchman and Dutchman.
Rubén Fernández again suffered a small fall, which ended up relegating him to seventh place in the race and fourth of the weekend to be fifth in the general classification with 136 points, with many options, if not he will have new mistakes, fight for privileged positions.
The fifth round of the World Championship, the Portuguese Grand Prix, will be held on the 30th at the Agueda circuit.
