Ukraine will continue to play Euro 2024 qualifying matches despite the government banning its national teams from participating in competitions with athletes from Russia and Belarus.
Kiev imposed the ban, which affects Olympic, non-Olympic and Paralympic events, because of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and the use of neighboring Belarus as a stage for the invasion.
Andriy Pavelko, The President of the Football Association of Ukraine, published a letter on Facebook today in which the Ministry of Sports informed the decision to allow Ukraine to play in the qualifying phase for Euro 2024 despite the fact that Belarus is also participating here.
“The national team of Ukraine will continue their official performances in qualifying for Euro 2024,” he wrote. Pavlenko in Facebook.
Euro 2024 qualifying Group C includes Ukraine, England, Italy, North Macedonia and Malta. Meanwhile, Belarus is in Group I with Israel, Andorra, Kosovo, Romania and Switzerland.

Ukraine lost on March 26, at Wembley, their first and so far only game, 2-0 against England, who lead the group with six points after two games.
After the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, UEFA banned Russia from competing in European tournaments.
