Massimiliano Allegri, coach of Juventus, exploded tonight after a new ten point penalty against his team for the ‘capital gains case’.
“That they will decide where Juve should be and they will tell us, It’s torture, disrespect to the workers, to the players, to the coaches. Is incredible. Enough is enough”, Allegri told DAZN after the defeat received by Juventus in their visit to Empoli (4-1) shortly after the Court of Appeal of the Italian Football Federation announced the penalty.
Juve went from second to seventh, five points behind Milan (4th), so their chances of qualifying for the Champions League have been severely reduced just two days before the end of Serie A.
“A Surreal Situation”
“On the pitch, Juve remains second, that should be clear (…). Then, tonight, we can do better, but the conditions are special”, Allegri values. “I have nothing to blame for my players. I can assure you that it was not an easy situation for them (…). It is an abnormal, surreal situation, but they did the best they could”.
“A quarter of an hour before the game, we were second in the standings and then we find ourselves with 59 points, seventh”, lamented Allegri. “I accept all the criticisms, but one thing is to play a game as second, with five points ahead of AC Milan who 5th, and another when you have to win by going behind”.
On Sunday, Juve-Milan!
“It’s normal to have a mental collapse, you need to rest for a day or two, otherwise against Milan, it will be more difficult than before,” concluded Allegri thinking about Sunday’s clash against the ‘rossoneri’ in Turin which equivalent to the last day.
An opportunity, matters of fate, presented to Juve to aim until the last game to qualify for the Champions League hanging by a thread.
