Merel Van Dongeninternational dutch Atletico Madridmade a strong criticism of Ajax from Amsterdam for not using female players as models for the team’s new away jersey photo and only doing the session with men’s team soccer players.

});

Pictured are Dusan Tadic, Steven Bergwijn, Devyne Rensch, Brian Brobbey and Mika Godts presenting the away kit for the 2023-24 season. “Where are the girls?” Van Dongen, who played for Ajax between 2015 and 2018, asked on Twitter. “Oh yes, of course, I understand: first, Ajax wants a good shirt for men and, if they are completely satisfied, there will also be a T-shirt for women,” he wrote.

});

This is not the first criticism of the treatment of the women’s team made at the Amsterdam club, which only a few days ago banned soccer players, league champions, from celebrating the title. The reason? “This is not the time,” they argue, using the crisis the club is going through at all levels as an excuse.
